Lady Whal - Ripristino Inizio

Good Sunday dear friends of the forum...!!!
This time I want to share with you a piece that entered in my collection a couple of months ago, and whose restoration had been postponed...
It is a fountain pen manufactured by Whal in the early 1920s, and due to its discreet size and to be worn as a pendant around the neck, it was considered a pen for women.
It was indeed in respectable condition, although you could tell by its faded and slightly dented gold plating, and by its fully crystallized ink sack, which had been abandoned and minimally stored for three decades...
What required the most work and care was the original 14K nib, which even with iridium and flexible, had its tips crossed and crooked.
It was also necessary to straighten the ebonite feeder that had been curved and that did not allow the ink to reach the nib...
And a very interesting and delicate detail, apart from the beautiful gold-plated engraving, was the lock system on the ink loading lever, to keep it closed.
